hello

I'm am very happy to inform you that I didn't have to miss out on all the fun this weekend =) I was very concerned that getting my wisdom teeth out on Friday would prevent me from leaving my couch for several days... I did get my wisdom teeth extracted on Friday as planned, and it was a miserable experience, let me tell you! My least favorite part was when mom had to change my goz; she would reach her fingers into my sore mouth and yank at the sticky, blood- drenched goz. It would pull at my tender cheeks and yards and yards of saliva would follow, tumbling all over my chin and sweatshirt. Isn't that the most lovely picture! ;-) ha!

But maybe two hours after I came out of the surgery I was feeling dandy! I felt no pain and had a remarkable amount of energy. When my face ceased to be swollen I was able to drink the smoothies my dad brought me (that was so great! I think you all should get your wisdom teeth out sheerly because you get to miss school and work and have your parents bring you Jamba Juice!) The next day (saturday) I felt no pain so I decided to skip my meds... well, by the early evening I decided to take my pills simply because it was hard to speak with out them... Sunday morning I was able to go to church and spent the majority of the day at Will Allen's house hanging out with all my buds (I had been looking forward to Will's b~day party for many days and I was elated to be able to go).

Mom made me go home and rest for an hour and a half before the Burn Service that night. She said that I had been very active that day and I needed to rest my mouth... Honestly I felt fine, I think that was her excuse to take a nap! haha

The Burn Service was AWESOME!!! It was held at our church, the worship was soooo great =) Energy came from some deep source in the midst of my being and I was able to praise my Daddy. yes, worship was great fun! when all of the songs ended I suddenly felt sooo incredibly drained. My pain meds had made me oh so drowsy and if I had been sitting next to someone besides Andrew, I would have rolled over on to them and fallen asleep (I probably would have started to drool blood aswell so maybe it's a good thing that Andrew was next to me ha!) But despite the fact that I was seriously about to pass out, Roger delivered a great message and I thouroughly enjoyed the whole service.

After a little more unexpected worship and an arm wrestling match with Rachel (I totally kicked her butt!!!) mom wisked me home, telling me that I couldn't go to school on Monday (today). I actually ARGUED, wishing to go to school... but I'm glad I didn't end up going. All the excitement yesterday put quite a strain on my mouth... But it was soooo worth it! =D I told mom that I'm going to school tomorrow, I'll probably go back to work tomorrow or Wednesday...

Having my wisdom teeth out was a far less excruciating experience than I had expected! I totally surprised my self and my parents at how quickly I was able to flit about and act relatively normal...

Well, I do wish that I could take a scrub brush and bucket of a strong minty substance and scour my mouth... my breath is KILLING ME!

I just realized that my last two posts have been abnormally large... what's up with that? hmm, maybe I'm making up for the lack of posting that is happening with most other blogs *ahem*!!

*lol* yeah... I remember the nasty breath part... don't worry... as soon as you get your stiches out, you will be able to rinse out your "holes" where your wisdom teeth came out and your breath will drastically improve. But until then... uh... yeah... it's gonna taste and smell like a cocky mamy doody rotten baby diaper.... soooo sorry. hehehe
Just wait till they take the stiches out and rinse them out for the first time... ugh... DISGUSTING!! But it will FEEL so much better!

Anyway... I'm glad you are doing so well. Most people do recover rather well. Occationally there are complications with sergery.. depending upon how difficult the teeth were to extract, but I had a similarly easy recovery, so woot for us, we were two of the fortunate ones! I'm glad you had a great weekend and I'm also glad you were able to take a break from school today. I hope you don't fall too far behind in your studies. Take care and God bless! (=

hahaha... I think in a week or two? I know.. it is really gross... but it only gets better from here... ask your parents, chances are they will know when your next Dr.'s appointment is and when you get your stiches out.

Sorry I grossed you out... but like I said, it's a lot better once you get your stiches out and it'll be easier to eat too.

    Take care!

i already went to the Drs and they aren't gonna actually take out my stitches cuz they are in a position that would be very uncomfortable for me to have taken out... darn it... does it really make much of a difference cuz i want them out! haha... oh well... i guess they will dissolve on their own... wutev

but i get to brush my teeth!!!! its soooo great =) and they say i can suck out of a straw and spit and all that jazz...oh man =) except its too difficult to chew anything yet... so i'm like starving... haha ;)

Oh man! That stinks... well... maybe you got a different type of stiches put in than I did. Depending upon the stiches that you got put in, it takes various different amounts of time for them to dissolve. Some dissolve in a few days, some in 2-3 weeks and some in 8 weeks. *cough* hehe

I'm guessing you probably got the ones in that will dissolve in about 2-3 weeks. Plus, having it in your mouth where there is lots of contact with trying to eat and what not, they will probably wear off even more quickly. Geez... bet you never knew I was such a pro about stiches, huh? *lol* Having a child gives you all kinds of interesting knowledge. *lol* But I won't reinterate on that subject matter further...

And YES, having the stiches out does make a big difference. Your gums won't feel so tight and sore. Plus, you'll be able to wash out your mouth fully and it will feel so much more clean. But you'll get there.

I know what you mean about how you are starving because it's hard to eat though. Anyone who has had their wisdom teeth removed or has had braces can relate to that. I've had both... one thing that is good and filling is clam chowder. I don't know if you like that, but I think it's yummy. Other filling snacks and things that are easy to eat are yogurt, tuna and egg salad sandwiches, oatmeal... and if I think of others, I'll try to remember to let you know. I know that isn't the most tasty of foods. In fact, you might hate a lot of that stuff. But, sometimes eating something that isn't so desirable is a bit better than being really hungry continuously if it will fill you up.

    Anyway, Take care!

oh... more filling food stuffs that are soft: corn beef hash, refried beens, canned peaches or other various fruits, soups of course (but they aren't very filling), and cake! hehe chocolate cake! (; More on the way if I can think of some.

*lol* yes, peanut butter is a very lovely thing, I would have to admit. When I am really hungry, I usually have a PB&J sandwich to tide me over. Good stuff (=
